Registration is closed

This session will overview the field of simulations, games and interactive learning. Using experiential examples we will look at all three areas of interactivity. We will play and debrief examples of each and explore their components. You will come away with tools to be more effective as a facilitator and with basic design principles for creating your own activities.

As a result of this session, you will be able to:

  1. Define simulations, games, and learning activities.
  2. Describe the key components of each.
  3. Discover ways to facilitate each more effectively.
  4. Modify design elements to enhance learning.

And, you will eat. Lunch is included.

About our Facilitator: Chris Saeger

Chris Saeger retired as director of performance improvement for the headquarters of the American Red Cross.  He was awarded North American Simulation and Gaming (NASAGA) Ifill-Reynolds lifetime achievement award for contributions to the field of simulations and games. His courses and simulations have won awards from ATD, Lakewood Publications, and the International Society for Performance Improvement—Potomac Chapter. He has presented at a variety of national and regional conferences and had games published in Mel Silberman’s Team and Organization Development Sourcebooks. Chris and his wife, Becky, live happily in their hide-away on the Blue Ridge—playing games and being supervised by Scout, their standard poodle.
