COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP

In this event, you will get an overview of three different types of courage, the impact fear has on personal and organizational performance and the vital role courage has in the workplace and our lives. This is an interactive, experiential session for anyone who would like to begin to develop the practice of courage-building!

“Learning and growth, individually and organizationally, do not happen in a zone of comfort. They happen in a zone of discomfort. This presents a challenge: learning and growing requires doing uncomfortable things but, given the choice, most people choose comfort over discomfort.

Life and work exist on a long continuum that ranges from comfort to discomfort. To stay stuck on the comfortable side of the continuum is to live halfheartedly. Personally and professionally, our opportunities expand to the extent that we work both ends of the continuum.

Despite advancements in nearly every aspect of organizational life, and despite to having access to leading-edge management knowledge, too many modern organizations remain hopelessly backward when it comes to the treatment of people. Fortunately there is a better way of leading and managing. The way of courage.

Courage is alive and well within the soul of each and every worker. It just has to be activated. That’s where you come in. By learning to apply the strategies and approaches that are introduced in the Courageous Leadership workshop, you will help people step up to challenges more readily, embrace change more fully, and speak up more assertively. In short, your courage is needed!”
