Develop insight on demonstrating cultural awareness, developing cultural competencies, as as well as embracing cultural differences.

The Center for New North Carolinians (CNNC), headquartered at UNC Greensboro, is committed to advancing the capacity of immigrants and refugees and will continue to build bridges between immigrant populations and existing communities throughout the state (NC) by providing:

  • Community-based outreach and advocacy
  • Educational programming
  • Research and evaluation
  • Immigrant and refugee leadership development
  • Educational opportunities for faculty and student

Register to learn more about the work of CNNC:

  • How they work with and train diverse populations; training to integrate diverse/displaced/at-risk people into the community
  • Micro-enterprise and entrepreneurship training to improve economic development; teaching self-sufficiency
  • Health, language, and safety training for new populations

Parking Information:

  • Meter Parking is available on the side of the building. Meters accept quarters, dimes, and nickels up to a 2-hour limit.  The metered parking is free after 5:00 p.m. 
  • 2-hour (free) street parking is available on Union Street (and additional cross streets behind the building)
  • UNCG Parking Lots are available at the corner of Union and Silver but require either (1)UNCG A or VB parking decals or (2) special one-day parking pass.
