ATD PIEDMONT CHAPTER Speaker FAQsQ1: How can I become a speaker at an ATD Piedmont Chapter event? A: We welcome your interest! To become a speaker, please fill out the Speaker Application Form on our website. Provide details about your expertise, presentation topic, and any relevant experience. Q2: What types of topics are you looking for? A: We seek a diverse range of topics within the talent development field, including but not limited to instructional design, learning and development, e-learning, leadership development, coaching, and training. Q3: Is there a deadline for submitting speaker applications? A: Yes, we review applications on a rolling basis. To be considered for an upcoming event, please submit your application at least 2 months before the event date. Q4: What is the typical duration of a speaking session? A: Speaking sessions usually run for 45-60 minutes, including time for Q&A. Q5: What AV equipment will be provided? A: We provide a standard AV setup, including a projector, screen, and microphone. Please let us know if you have specific requirements. Q6: Are there any compensation or benefits for speakers? A: While we do not provide monetary compensation, speakers gain exposure, networking opportunities, and recognition within the talent development community. Q7: Can I promote my products/services during my presentation? A: Blatant sales pitches are discouraged. Q8: Will my travel and accommodation expenses be covered? A: Unfortunately, we are unable to cover travel and accommodation expenses for speakers at this time. Q9: Can I co-present with a colleague? A: Absolutely! Co-presenters are welcome. Please include your co-presenter's details in the application. Q10: Can I submit multiple presentation ideas? A: Yes, you can submit multiple ideas, but please complete a separate application for each topic. Q11: What is the review process for speaker applications? A: Applications are reviewed by our program committee. We evaluate relevance, originality, expertise, and alignment with our event goals and the ATD Talent Development Capability Model. Q12: If my application is not accepted, can I reapply with a different topic? A: Of course! We encourage you to refine your proposal and reapply for future events. Q13: How can I prepare for a successful presentation? A: Once selected, we'll provide guidelines and support to help you craft and deliver an engaging presentation.
